DESCRIPTION:Fondation Leenaards\nThe Leenaards Foundation supports transla
 tional medical research at the University Hospitals of the Lake Geneva Reg
 ion carried out in collaboration with other academic institutions. The aim
  is to strengthen structural links between clinical and basic research.\nF
 or the call 2017\, the amount available is CHF 1.5 million to be distribut
 ed between 2-3 major and innovative project(s) (Prix Leenaards 2017).\nIn 
 case of support by the Foundation\, the team(s) will be free to plan the u
 se of he funds within a 3 years period. The Price is not renewable\nThe pr
 oject will investigate a clinical problem from an original and innovative 
 angle\, linking it to a component of advanced basic research\, be it exper
 imental research\, bioinformatics or epidemiological analyses. The proposa
 l must describe a complete project. However\, it may be embedded in the co
 ntext of an existing study.\nPreference will be given to projects  attest
 ing new collaboration(s) at the level of the Lake Geneva region\, at least
 \, with one of the two academic hospitals\, as well as with UNIL\, UNIGE a
 nd/or EPFL\, and possibly\, with other Swiss or foreign academic instituti
