 hysical Sciences (MPS) division invites applications for its new Targeted 
 Grants in MPS program.\n\nRationale: The program is intended to support hi
 gh-risk projects of exceptional promise and scientific importance on a cas
 e-by-case basis. Projects in the areas of Mathematics\, Theoretical Comput
 er Science and Theoretical Physics are funded.\n\nHow to Apply: Applicants
  may submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) through proposalCENTRAL (https://prop
 osalcentral.altum.com/default.asp). The deadline is rolling and an applica
 nt can submit at any time.\n\nLOI Requirements Include:\n\n\n	Research pla
 n (two-page limit\, plus up to one page for references and figures): Signe
 d by the main PI on letterhead\, which includes a brief summary of the sup
 port requested\, including the names of the other PI(s) involved\, if appl
 icable\, the scientific goals\, background relevant to the application\, a
 nd a brief budget justification.\n	A tentative yearly budget (two-page lim
 it) indicating total amount and major expense categories with proposed sta
