 formal blocks for conformal field theories in general dimensions. I will
  review how to define them and what is the state of art of the subject. Fi
 nally I will explain a method which allows to build the conformal blocks 
 from the knowledge of their analytic structure in the conformal dimension
  of the exchanged operator.
