DESCRIPTION:Dear Postdocs\,   It is our pleasure to announce that the reg
 istration for the POSTDOC RETREAT 2016 is now open!   The purpose of this
  retreat is to create a relaxed space outside the workplace to foster and 
 strengthen a sense of community among the EPFL postdocs\, providing an opp
 ortunity for spontaneous and deliberate collaborations and/or simply tight
 ening bonds with our peers. This event is officially part of the SV postdo
 c activities and fully supported by our Dean Dr Gisou van der Goot. Theref
 ore\, it should be taken as “conference”\, and not declared as holiday
 s.   The retreat will start on Friday October 14th and close at around no
 on on the 15th. The program includes a speed collaborating get-together\, 
 and allocates ample time for social activities\, ranging from a delicious 
 fondue to a Ballon-Ballais match (“football on ice”) and an exciting i
 ntro to Curling! In the last day we’ll have a hike\, where friends and f
 amily are welcome to join the participants for the rest of the retreat. We
  will have a family friendly hike for very young enthusiastic explorers an
 d a more vigorous hike for young passionate scientists.   The conference 
 will be held at the beautiful EPFL/UNIL Chalet at Les Diablerets\, which i
 s conveniently located 1:30 hours from Lausanne. A shuttle bus will bring 
 us there\, while the trip back is open. Please note that if you cannot tak
 e the Friday off\, you are still welcome to join us Friday night for found
 ue and drinks (fee included) or Saturday morning (fee-free) for the hike.

 t office) 10:30 Arrival in the Chalet at Les Diablerets – Welcome Brunch
  12:00 Depart to Centre Sportif de Leysin for Ballon-Ballais and curling! 
 14.00 Come back to the Chalet and lunch 15.00 Speed collaborating with dri
 nks\, snacks and hot chocolate 20.00 Dinner (traditional Swiss fondue!)

 halet   10:15 Meet friends and family at the Les Diablerets train station
    10.30 14:00 Hiking Depart to Lausanne      The retreat is open to a
 ll postdocs\, with priority given to members of the association. Reservati
 ons are on a first-come\, first-served basis\, and should be done before S
 eptember 30th!!! After the deadline\, you’ll receive an email with a Pay
 pal link to pay a fee of 65 CHF (subsidized by the SV Postdoc association)
 . Upon payment\, you’ll receive an email confirming your registration. 
   This fee includes:   1) The stay in the chalet (1 night) 2) Food (Beve
 rages and snacks at the bus\, welcome brunch\, 1 lucnh\, 1 dinner and 1 br
 eakfast) 3) The bus ride from Lausanne to Les Diablerets and from the Chal
 et to Centre Sportif  (please note that the trip back to Lausanne on Satu
 rday is not included). 4) “Getting started with Curling!!!!” and the
