 gne\nAbstract: The central nervous system coordinates both the control of 
 energy homeostasis\, i.e. the balance of food intake and energy expenditur
 e as well as peripheral fuel metabolism. Here\, the hypothalamus receives 
 information from the periphery of the body about the fuel sources availabl
 e either via hormonal signals such as leptin and insulin as well as direct
 ly by nutrient components such as amino acids\, glucose and fatty acids. T
 he presentation will focus on the neurocircuitry receiving and integrating
  this information to coordinately regulate the biological responses as wel
 l as on the molecular mechanisms involved.
