DESCRIPTION:CAREER CATALYST RESEARCH GRANTS – BASIC/TRANSLATIONAL and CL
 INICAL\nCareer  Catalyst  (CCR)  Grants  are  intended to foster  pr
 omising  breast  cancer researchers who are in the early stages of their
  faculty careers by providing support for up to three years of “protecte
 d time” for research careerdevelopment under the guidance of a Mentor Co
 mmittee. It is expected that awardees will launch independent research car
 eers and successfully compete for subsequent research project funding in b
 reast cancer following the successful completion of a CCR Grant\, thereby 
 playing key roles in reducing breast cancer incidence and mortality within
  the next decade\, with the ultimate goal of ending breast cancer forever.
 Two Research Focus Areas are included in this mechanism:\n\n		   CCR-Cli
 nical Research – for clinical faculty proposing clinical research (as de
 fined within the attached document)\n	\n		   CCR-Basic/Translational Res
 earch – for basic or clinical faculty proposing laboratory-based biomedi
 cal research.\nFunding:\nApplicants/PIs may request funding of up to $150\
 ,000 per year (combined direct and indirect costs) for up to three years (
