DESCRIPTION:POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP GRANTS – BASIC/TRANSLATIONAL and CLI
 NICAL\nPostdoctoral Fellowship (PDF) Grants are intended to attract and su
 pport promising scientists and clinician/scientists who are embarking on c
 areers dedicated to breast  cancer research. By providing funding to outs
 tanding postdoctoral/postgraduate fellows under the guidance of a mentor\,
  Komen seeks to ensure that a diverse pool of highly trained scientists wi
 ll emerge as the next generation of leaders in the field of breast cancer 
 research. These leaders will play key roles in reducing breast cancer inci
 dence and mortality within in the next decade\, with the ultimate goal of 
 ending breast cancer forever.Two Research Focus Areas are included in this
  mechanism:\n		   Basic/Translational Research Grants – for hypothesis
 -driven research projects that are laboratory-or field-based\n	\n		   Cl
 inical Research Grants - for either M.D. or Ph.D. Applicants for hypothesi
 s driven\, patient-oriented research for which an investigator directly in
 teracts with human subjects/patients.\nFunding:\nApplicants/PIs may reques
 t funding of up to $60\,000 per year (direct costs only) for a minimum of 
 two years ($120\,000) and a maximum of three years ($180\,000).KEY DATESAp
