DESCRIPTION:These grants are to support collaborative inter-university doc
 toral top research in the fields of engineering and environmental sciences
  (which includes bioengineering\, but not life science or biology) as well
  as research in digital humanities at the intersection of Medieval Discipl
 ines and Computing.\nThe grant aims to encourage research collaboration be
 tween two universities\, namely the home university of the doctoral candid
 ate and a hosting university\, one of the two preferably situated in Switz
 erland. The grant will cover travel and local living costs of the candidat
 e while visiting the hosting university or research institute exclusively\
 , plus flat rate economy-class return airfare/train ticket from the home u
 niversity to the hosting university.Stipend duration: Four to twelve month
 s.Amount awarded: A stipend of 2’500 Swiss francs per month to defray lo
 cal living expenses at the hosting university\, plus agreed economy-class 
 return airfare/train ticket from the home to the hosting university\, plus
  limited research expenditures for the duration of the stay at the hosting
