DESCRIPTION:Prof. Shyh-Jye (Jerry) Jou\, National Chiao Tung University (N
 CTU)\, Taiwan\nThis talk will first highlight a development of a 3DNet com
munication network and applications for smart campus. The disruptive techn
 ologies include 60GHz fully-CMOS integrated mmWave IC\, high-power InAIN/G
aN HEMT devices\, and multi-beam phased array antenna to enable a highly e
fficient 60GHz RFIC chipset. These high-speed wireless communication techn
ologies are applied to integrate with 4G Cellular\, WiFi\, and fiber core
 network for a hybrid-service\, high-bandwidth\, and low-latency 3Dnet impl
ementation in campus.  Then\, this talk will give a more detail discussio
ns on the new waveform (like FBMC)\, CCFD and multi-beam phased array ante
nna technologies on 60GHz mmWave wireless system.\nBio:\nShyh-Jye (Jerry)
Jou received his B. S. degree in electrical engineering from National Chen
Kung University in 1982\, and M. S. and Ph.D. degrees in electronics from
National Chiao Tung University in 1984 and 1988\, respectively. He joined
Electrical Engineering Department of National Central University\, Chung-
 Li\, Taiwan\, from 1990 to 2004 and became a Professor in 1997. Since 2004
\, he has been Professor of Electronics Engineering Department of National
Chiao Tung University and served as the Chairman from 2006 to 2009. From
August 2011 to December 2015 he was the Vice President for International A
ffairs. He currently serves as Director of the Department of International
Cooperation and Science Education of the Ministry of Science and Technolo
gy\, Taiwan. He was a visiting research Professor in the Coordinated Scien
ce Laboratory at University of Illinois\, Urbana-Champaign during 1993-199
4 and 2010 academic years. In the summer of 2001\, he was a visiting resea
rch consultant in the Communication Circuits and Systems Research Laborato
ry of Agere Systems\, USA. He received Outstanding Engineering Professor A
ward\, Chinese Institute of Engineers and Chinese Institute of Electrical
Engineering at 2011 and 2013\, respectively.
