 his talk will present the technological and pedagogical design of an EdX M
 OOC on technology and inquiry for in-service teachers\, which was designed
  as part of a PhD thesis research project. Inspired by theories of scripti
 ng and orchestration to support rich and productive collaborative learning
 \, this project investigated the challenges and opportunities inherent in 
 "scaling up" collaborative scripts\, with efforts to both enable rich smal
 l group collaboration "despite" the large size of the course\, and on the 
 other hand do things (such as crowdsourcing) that would only be possible w
 ith thousands of learners.
