Prof. Philippe Moreillon\nScience can appear inaccessible and complex to n
on-scientists and art can seem unachieveable and daunting to scientists. T
his 3 day course aims to bring together scientists and artists to create f
ilms that communicate complex concepts in science. In groups of 4-5\, part
icipants will:\n\n\n	find a scientific concept they want to communicate\n
discuss how they want to communicate this concept\n	produce a short film a
imed at a non-scientist audience\n\n\nThe short films will be aimed at mem
bers of the public with the purpose of helping people engage with and unde
rstand science. On the Sunday evening the films will be presented at the O
blo Theatre and a panel of judges (science communicators\, scientists and
filmmakers) will award a prize to the film that best fulfills the aims of
the hackathon. There will also be a free public showing of the films at Ci
néma Pully on wednesday 7th December. WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?\n\n\n	Scien
tists\n	Filmmakers\n	Artists\n	People with a passion for communicating sci
ence\n\n\nOn each day of the event we will have mentors that are experts i
n various fields. They will be available for consultation about ideas and
methods. They will also give short presentations about their experiences c
