DESCRIPTION:Prof. Axel KLAWONN\nThe mechanical behavior of arterial walls
in the physiological range can be described by anisotropic\, hyperelastic
elasticity models. Diferent models can be considered. Each of them is repr
esented by a polyconvex strain energy function in order to guarantee the e
xistence of minimizers. Discretization of these three dimensional models b
y the finite element method usually results in a large number of equations
which requires eficient robust and parallel scalable solvers. Dual-primal
FETI methods are\namong the most severely tested domain decomposition met
hods for the solution of partial diferential equations on parallel compute
rs. A computational framework using a Newton-Krylov-FETI approach for the
solution of the discretized arterial wall models will be discussed and num
 erical results will be presented.
