DESCRIPTION:Dr. Harald Giessen\, University of Stuttgart\, Stuttgart\, Ger
many\n\nhttp://www.pi4.uni-stuttgart.de/\nMicrooptics has a plethora of ap
plications\, ranging from miniature endoscopes in hospitals to beam\nshapi
ng or imaging. 3D printing with a femtosecond laser and two-photon polymer
ization allows for\nmanufacturing optical elements directly after their de
sign with an optical CAD program on a computer\,\nwith a resolution better
than 100 nm and a high accuracy and reproducibility.\nThe talk is showing
first experimental results and discusses the different possibilities and
perspectives.\nTriplett microscope objectives of only 100 μm diameter wit
 h excellent imaging properties\, fitting into\nthe inside of a syringe\, a
re becoming available with this technology and can be useful for medical\n
applications as well as for novel sensors or inspection methods.\nMerging
this technology with metasurfaces and plasmonics will be discussed.\n[1] T
