DESCRIPTION:\nConference on Academic Careers and Gender Equality\n\nThis e
 vent is part of the GARCIA project\, which has been funded by the 7th Euro
 pean Framework Programme. The conference is entitled "Early academic caree
 rs in times of uncertainty: Challenges for gender equality policies and pr
 actices" and will take place in Lausanne from 24 to 25 November 2016.\n\nC
 oncerned with fighting against gender stereotypes and promoting an egalita
 rian gender culture in seven different European universities\, the GARCIA 
 project (Gendering the Academy and Research: Combating career Instability 
 and Asymmetries) will end in January 2017. This event is the Swiss nationa
 l conference of the project.\n\nThe main results of the GARCIA project wil
 l be presented\, along with papers from various Swiss higher education and
  research institutions and other invited speakers.\n\nSessions will addres
 s the socio-historical aspects of academic careers\, and the effects of ge
