DESCRIPTION:Simons Foundation\nThe Simons Foundation’s Mathematics and P
 hysical Sciences (MPS) division invites applications for its new Targeted 
 Grants in MPS program.\n\nRationale: The program is intended to support hi
 gh-risk projects of exceptional promise and scientific importance on a cas
 e-by-case basis. Projects in the areas of Mathematics\, Theoretical Comput
 er Science and Theoretical Physics are funded.\n\nHow to Apply: Applicants
  may submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) through proposal CENTRAL (https://pro
 posalcentral.altum.com/default.asp). The deadline is rolling and an applic
 ant can submit at any time.\n\nLOI Requirements Include:\n\n\n	Research pl
 an (two-page limit\, plus up to one page for references and figures): Sign
 ed by the main PI on letterhead\, which includes a brief summary of the su
 pport requested\, including the names of the other PI(s) involved\, if app
 licable\, the scientific goals\, background relevant to the application\, 
 and a brief budget justification.\n	A tentative yearly budget (two-page li
 mit) indicating total amount and major expense categories with proposed st
