DESCRIPTION:Prof. Jacques Blum\nUniversité Côte d’Azur\, CNRS\, INRIA\
 ,\nLaboratoire J.-A. Dieudonné\, Nice\, France\nThe theory of optimal con
trol of systems governed by partial differential equations can be used to
solve identification and control problems in plasma physics. We will prese
nt applications to the following inverse problems: identification of free
plasma boundary and real-time plasma equilibrium reconstruction. We will a
lso show how these techniques can be useful for optimizing a plasma scenar
io by computing a feedforward control applied to the poloidal field circui
ts and which minimize an appropriate cost-function. Applications will be g
iven for various Tokamaks (WEST\, ITER\,..).\n\n
