DESCRIPTION:\nThe method of Euler systems models L-functions of automorphi
 c forms in terms of motivic or Galois cohomological data (Galois cohomolo
 gy classes). It is a major tool in the proof of the known cases of the Bl
 och-Kato conjectures. \nThe objective of the workshop is to introduce g
 raduate students and junior researchers to the theory of Euler systems and
  the derived Kolyvagin systems as well as to the applications to Selmer
  groups. Classical examples of Euler systems such as the Euler system of
  cyclotomic units\, elliptic units and Heegner points will be consider
 ed in detail. More axiomatic treatments in both the cyclotomic and anti-c
 yclotomic cases will be presented as a sequence of mini-courses\, as well 
 as the general arguments used for describing the structure of Selmer gr
 oups. ​\n
