DESCRIPTION:Prof. Laura Herz\nUniversity of Oxford\nUK\nThis presentation 
 first provides an overview of our recent work [1-7] elucidating the charge
 -carrier dynamics in organic-inorganic metal halide perovskites for solar 
 cells with power-conversion efficiencies now exceeding 20%. We discuss the
  fundamental photophysics that has enabled these materials to be such effi
 cient light-harvesters and charge collectors. We demonstrate how parameter
 s essential for photovoltaic operation are altered with substitutions of t
 he organic A cation (e.g. methyl ammonium\, formamidinium or caesium)\, th
 e metal M cation (e.g. Pb2+ or Sn2+) and the halide X anion (I- or Br-). W
 e further analyze distinct mechanisms that limit the charge-carrier recomb
 ination and mobility in these perovskites\, and their dependences on compo
 sition and temperature. We use these insights to predict charge-carrier di
 ffusion lengths and radiative efficiencies in the limit of ultra-low trap-
 related recombination\, which could potentially be reached through further
