DESCRIPTION:The disproportional loss of female talent in academia is evide
 nt and systematic almost without exception across disciplines\, faculties\
 , universities\, and countries. Join us for this exciting opportunity to t
 hink and talk to each other about why this happens\, and ways to stop it.\
 n\nUZH and the other 22 members of the League of European Research Univers
 ities (LERU) examine implicit gender bias as one significant explanation o
 f the loss of female talent in "Implicit bias in academia: A challenge to 
 the meritocratic principle – and what to do about it" (LERU paper\, fort
 hcoming 2018).\n\nThe conference will on the one hand serve to disseminate
  and discuss this LERU paper with a large audience representing various st
 akeholders\, and on the other hand it will serve to explore and illuminate
  the phenomenon of bias and its effects on research-performing organizatio
 ns and on the people within them.\n\nUZH is proud to host the Second LERU 
 Gender Conference on 14 - 15 June 2018.\n
