 rch\, Miskolc\, Hungary\nAluminium foams are the frontiers of new light we
 ight materials. They are created by gas injection foaming\, that is by inj
 ecting gas bubbles into the metal melt through an orifice. We developed an
  original metal foaming technology which resulted in a new type of metal f
 oam called ALUHAB\, which can be produced with controlled bubble size and 
 mechanical properties. It is manufactured from a special foamable aluminiu
 m alloy containing ultrafine particles (80-3000 nm sized). The technique r
 elies on a direct gas injection with a loud-nozzle\, and the bubbles are r
 egulated by the frequency and power of the sound (so called acoustic radia
 tion pressure). The size of the bubbles is depending on the applied sound 
 pressure. The oscillation induced external force (acoustic radiation force
 ) modifies bubble formation mechanism and helps bubble detachment in its e
 arly stage. This extra force can significantly decrease the bubble size in
 to the sub-millimetre range and it can be kept uniform. This technology pr
 ovides extremely stable re-meltable metal foams\, which can be casted into
  complex shape while the material properties do not change. The ALUHAB onc
 e made can be transported and re-melt at the place of the use (for example
  at a foundry).
