DESCRIPTION:From October 30 to November 6\, EPFL will take part in the Vir
 tual Conference on the theme of business air travel in the academic sector
 . Initiated by ETHZ\, this conference will bring together participants fro
 m eight universities (amongst which Oxford\, Yale and Cambridge) with the 
 following objectives:\n\n	Identify the professional\, organizational and c
 ultural factors that encourage the scientific community to travel frequent
 ly by air.\n	Identify the measures – in particular technological and gov
 ernance – to reduce air travel and environmental impacts\, without\, how
 ever\, negatively influencing research quality.\n	Examine the performance 
 of video conference technologies between universities spread across differ
 ent time zones.\n\nThe conference will be a mix of virtual workshops (webi
