DESCRIPTION:The State Secretariat for Education\, Research\, and Innovatio
 n (SERI) has commissioned the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW)
  as Leading House for bilateral research collaboration with partner instit
 utions in South Asia and Iran\, namely Afghanistan\, Bangladesh\, Bhutan\,
  India\, Iran\, Maldives\, Nepal\, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.\n\nAim: Bridgin
 g grants can be awarded to Swiss researchers who have already successfully
  completed a project with the partner in South Asia and Iran. In fact\, th
 e grant offers the possibility to prepare a grant application for a full j
 oint research project (e.g. through the SNSF\, EU funding or any other nat
 ional or regional funding body). Bridging grants may also enable the inten
 sification of joint teaching or curriculum development.\n\nEligibility\n\n
 	The main applicant must be a scientist at a Swiss federal or cantonal uni
 versity\, university of applied sciences or university of teachers’ educ
 ation\, or a public research institution.\n	The co-applicant must be a sci
 entist at research institutes or universities in the partner countries in 
 South Asia and Iran.\n	Companies may be involved as additional partners.\n
 	All disciplines\; both basic and applied research.\n\nDeadline: 20 Januar
 y 2018  (only for Bridging Grants with India\; the call for the other coun
 tries will open in April 2018).\n\nFunding: between CHF 10\,000 and 25\,00
 0 for up to 6 months.\n\n\n	Covers: direct research costs. Partial salary 
 costs will only be granted for the author of a joint proposal that is conf
 irmed to be submitted to a larger funding agency.\n\n\n\n	Does NOT cover: 
 full doctoral salaries\; the exchange of researchers (i.e. costs for trave
 l\, accommodation\, consumables)\, which can be submitted for a Mobility g
 rant (additional information available soon)\; overheads or other indirect
  costs.\n\nContributions by all involved partners (financial and in-kind) 
 is well regarded during the evaluation.\n\nApplication for Bridging Grants
  with India:\n\n\n	The Application Form is included in the call document.\
