DESCRIPTION:Camilo Rebelo\nA committed look at the definition of a precise
gesture towards a given brief and context. Regardless of its inherent lev
el of complexity\, the project of architecture constitutes a long and thor
ough process\, evolving from concept to built form through constant questi
oning and doubt. Good design needs its own time\, a body engages with a pl
ace through adaptation and refinement\, slowly taking part in it\, knowing
that each step is the consequence of error and trial. Furthermore\, a bui
lding is a tentative solution\, the possible compromise that fulfilled the
client's initial expectations and bypassed reality's constraints. For thi
s lecture\, two vast territories are proposed\, their apparent lack of urb
anity perhaps amplifying the scope of possibilities. Two projects reached
completion\, one gave its place to the other.
