DESCRIPTION:Dr. Nicolas Abelé\nAbstract: MEMS mirror have been developed
since the early 90’s\, originally for telecom-switching application\, bu
t also in parallel for scanning-based laser projection systems with the gr
eat benefit of providing a projected image with very large color gamut\, a
 lways-in-focus\, ultra-small and low power. Lemoptix\, a spin-off from the
EPFL Micro-Systems laboratory was one of the pioneer in this field and ha
s develop in-house MEMS-based laser projection system for multiple markets
 \, ranging from Head-Up Display in car\, wearable glass\, 3D sensing and p
ico-projector. The company has successfully been acquired by Intel in 2015
 .\n\nBio: Nicolas Abelé\, CTO\, IP manager and co-founder of Lemoptix SA\
, recently acquired by Intel Corporation\, 8 years after its incorporation
. Lemoptix was a pure technology-IP licensing company. Nicolas was leading
on one end the technology development and the customer interaction on the
technical side\, and the build of the IP portfolio on the other side.\n\n
This seminar is part of the course 'MICRO-534 - Advanced MEMS and Microsys
tems'. The seminar is open to the interested public.
