DESCRIPTION:This instrument\, set up by ETH Zurich and the China Scholarsh
 ip Council (CSC)\, funds the exchange of young scientists between China an
 d Switzerland. The Swiss State Secretariat for Education\, Research and In
 novation (SERI) commissioned ETH Zurich as the Leading House for Swiss app
 licants who want to stay in contact and start research activities with Chi
 nese colleagues by:\n\n	Hosting young Chinese scholars in Switzerland for 
 6-24 months.\n	Sending young Swiss scholars to China for up to 12 months.\
 n\n \nGeneral requirements\n\n\n	The Main Applicant must be a senior rese
 archer holding a permanent position in an eligible Swiss institution.\n	Th
 e Chinese and Swiss partners must have set up initial contacts during a sy
 mposium\, workshop\, for a publication\, the submission of a joint researc
 h proposal or alike.\n\n\nCASE A: HOSTING YOUNG CHINESE SCHOLARS IN SWITZE
 RLAND\nWho can apply\n\n	PhD students with a Master degree or post-doctora
 l researchers from all scientific fields.\n\nFunding\n\n\n	Monthly allowan
 ce: CHF 4400 for PhD students and CHF 4500 for postdoctoral researchers + 
 CHF 250 for social charges if the Chinese visitor receives employee status
  at the Swiss institute.\n\n \nCASE B: SENDING YOUNG SWISS SCHOLARS TO CH
 INA\nWho can apply\n\n	PhD or post-doctoral researchers from all scientifi
 c fields registered/employed at an eligible Swiss institution throughout t
 heir stay in China.\n	Stays will have to be part of a research project or 
 collaboration.\n\nFunding\n\n\n	Monthly allowance: CHF 2000 for all schola
 rs.\n	Roundtrip economy ticket: up to CHF 2000 per trip.\n\n \nDeadline: 
 8 April 2018\nIn both cases\, the Swiss Main Applicant must submit an appl
 ication as a single PDF to ETHZ (Dr Rahel Byland\, rahel.byland@sl.ethz.ch
 ). Find the application form at pp.4-9 of the call document.\nIn case A:\n
 \n	Submit your application to Research Office by 28 March 2018 to obtain a
  Letter of Institutional Support.\n	In parallel\, the Chinese visitor must
  submit an application to CSC by 1 March 2018.\n\n \nAlso available: ETHZ
