DESCRIPTION:Aim: The Brain & Behavior Research Foundation is the largest n
 on-government\, donor-supported organization that distributes funds for ps
 ychiatric brain and behavior disorder research. The Foundation’s NARSAD 
 Young Investigator Grant (YI) program enables promising investigators to e
 ither extend their research fellowship training or to begin careers as ind
 ependent research faculty. The program is intended to facilitate innovativ
 e research opportunities and supports basic\, as well as translational and
 /or clinical investigators. All research must be relevant to our understan
 ding\, treatment and prevention of serious psychiatric disorders such as: 
 schizophrenia\; bipolar\; mood and anxiety disorders\; or early onset brai
 n and behavior disorders.\n \nDuration: 1-2 years\n \nFunding: USD $35
 ’000/year\nThe foundation allows considerable flexibility in the use of 
 funds: equipment\, stipends\, etc. are all acceptable as long as the suppo
 rt is in service of the NARSAD YI Grant research project.\n \nEligibility
 : Applicant must hold a doctorate degree and already be employed in resear
 ch training or be in a faculty research position. The YI Grant is intended
  to support advanced post-doctoral fellows\, instructors\, or assistant pr
 ofessors (or equivalent). The applicant must have an on-site mentor or sen
 ior collaborator who is an established investigator in areas relevant to p
 sychiatric disorders.\n \nHow to Apply: Applications are submitted online
  and must include the following sections in a single PDF: face sheet\, abs
 tract\, C.V.\, proposal\, research training/career plans\, budget\, mentor
  support letter\, mentor C.V.\, references\, collaborator letter\, and ins
