DESCRIPTION:Aim: The CZI Neurodegeneration Challenge Network has three goa
 ls: (1) to make fundamental advances toward understanding neurodegeneratio
 n\; (2) to bring new ideas and talent to the field of neurodegeneration\; 
 and (3) to encourage a new type of interdisciplinary collaborative researc
 h involving scientists\, clinicians and engineers.\nThe CZI Collaborative 
 Science Awards will fulfill these goals by supporting small group interdis
 ciplinary collaborations. At least one member of the collaboration should 
 be a physician with active clinical engagement in an area relevant to the 
 proposal. These grants are aimed to support innovative\, bold\, high risk/
 high impact projects at the interface of basic and disease biology.\n \nD
 uration: 3 years\n \nFunding: USD $350’000/year ($1.05M total)\n \nEli
 gibility: All applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent\, and must currentl
 y hold  independent faculty positions. Collaborations should include two 
 to four principal investigators\, at least one of which is a physician whi
 ch active clinical engagement.\n \nHow to Apply: Letter of Intent (LOI) t
 o be submitted first\, followed by full applications and in-person intervi
 ews by request. Institution support letters and  budget details are not r
 equired at the LOI stage\, but will be required for full applications.\n
