 er the integers. We will introduce basic numerical invariants which will a
 llow for the theory to go parallel with geometric ampleness\, and describe
  arithmetic analogues of basic results: cohomological criteria\, Nakai-Moi
 shezon (proved by Zhang)\, Bertini. This is joint work with Bost.
