DESCRIPTION:Dr Josh Bendavid\, CERN\nAbstract: The observation of a new 
 particle with properties consistent with a Standard Model Higgs boson by t
 he ATLAS and CMS collaborations in 2012 marked a major achievement in part
 icle physics\, fulfilling a primary goal of the LHC program.  Continuing 
 measurements of the properties of the new boson constitute stringent tests
  of the Standard Model in previously unexplored phase space.  Aside from 
 direct searches for new particles\, ongoing measurements of the full range
  of Standard Model processes at the LHC over a wide range of phase space a
 nd with increasing precision represent an essential path to the discovery 
 of physics beyond the Standard Model.  Results and historical perspective
  will be presented for the search\, discovery and measurements of the\nHig
 gs boson\, with a particular focus on the di-photon final state in CMS.  
 Prospects for the use of further measurements of the Higgs and electroweak
  gauge bosons to expose physics beyond the Standard Model will be discusse
 d\, as well as the role and use of machine learning in reconstruction\, si
 mulation and physics analysis.  Physics prospects and detector requiremen
 ts through the HL-LHC era and beyond will be explored\, with a particular 
 focus on the use of precision timing to suppress pileup and extend physics
  capabilities.
