DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Breast Cancer E
 ra of Hope Scholar Awards. These Awards will support individuals early in 
 their careers who have demonstrated significant potential to effect meanin
 gful change in breast cancer. These individuals should be exceptionally ta
 lented scientists who have shown that they are the “best and brightest
 ” in their field(s) through extraordinary creativity\, vision\, innovati
 on\, and productivity. As the intent of the Era of Hope Scholar Award is t
 o recognize creative and innovative individuals rather than projects\, the
  central features of the award are the applicant’s demonstrated ability 
 to go beyond conventional thinking in their field and the innovative contr
 ibution that the Principal Investigator (PI) can make toward ending breast
  cancer. The PI should articulate a vision that challenges current dogma a
 nd demonstrates an ability to look beyond tradition and convention. Experi
 ence in breast cancer research is not required\; however\, the application
  must focus on breast cancer. Individuals from other disciplines who will 
 apply novel concepts to breast cancer are also encouraged to submit.\n \n
 Funding: Maximum USD $2’500’000\n \nEligibility: Applicants from inte
 rnational organizations or institutions are eligible to apply\, and there 
 are no citizenship restrictions. Applicants must be independent investigat
 ors not more than 6 years past their last training position.\n \nHow to A
 pply: Pre-applications are submitted through the eBRAP platform. They shou
 ld contain contact information\, a letter of intent\, collaborators and ke
 y personnel\, and a list of potential references as suggested on the platf
 orm. Full applications (by invitation) will be made via a Grants.gov works
