DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Breast Cancer I
 nnovator Awards. These Awards support visionary individuals who have demon
 strated exceptional creativity\, innovative work\, and paradigm-shifting l
 eadership in any field including\, but not limited to\, breast cancer\, pr
 oviding these individuals with the funding and freedom to pursue their mos
 t novel\, visionary\, high-risk ideas that could accelerate progress to en
 ding breast cancer. Because the intent of the Innovator Award mechanism is
  to recognize these remarkably creative and innovative visionary individua
 ls\, rather than projects\, the central feature of the award is the innova
 tive contribution that the Principal Investigator (PI) can make toward end
 ing breast cancer. The PI should have a record of challenging the status q
 uo\, shifting paradigms by changing a field of research or approach to pat
 ient care\, exhibiting high levels of creativity\, and demonstrating promi
 se for continued innovation in future work.\n \nFunding: Maximum USD $5
 ’000’000\n \nEligibility: Applicants from international organizations
  or institutions are eligible to apply\, and there are no citizenship rest
 rictions. Applicants must be at or above the level of Associate Professor.

 upporting documentation\, and a list of collaborators and key personnel as
