DESCRIPTION:The Swiss Re Foundation accepts unsolicited funding requests w
 ithin Swiss Re (a Zurich-based reinsurance company)’s focus areas (see d
 escription below) in Switzerland\, in developing countries and in regions 
 where Swiss Re has offices.\n \nFocus areas:\n\n	Climate: help people ada
 pt to climate change and adopt climate-friendly practices.\n	Natural Hazar
 ds: help poor communities prepare for\, prevent and bounce back from natur
 al disasters.\n	Society: address the big challenges facing the world today
 \, from migration and urbanisation to rising longevity (e.g. with responsi
 ve robots and virtual physical therapy).\n	Water and Sanitation: as centra
 l to the survival of the planet and human beings.\n\nThe Foundation does N
 OT support events (unless related to a supported project)\, scholarships a
 nd fellowships.\n \nWho can apply: research universities\, think tanks\, 
 NGOs\, social enterprises and foundations are eligible for funding.\n \nA
 pplications can be submitted all year round.\n \nFor more information and
