DESCRIPTION:The "Lombardi Engineering Foundation" aims at promoting R&D pr
 ojects in the civil engineering field\, preferably in the fields of rock m
 echanics\, underground and hydraulic engineering. The Foundation wishes to
  support research projects of young engineers to improve the professional 
 competence in Switzerland in these important engineering areas.\n \nPoten
 tial topics for the 2018 Call on “Innovation in Tradition”:\n\n	Determ
 ination of the stress state in tunnel linings or massive concrete structur
 es.\n	Detection of rock behaviour during tunnelling (e.g. when using TBM w
 ith precast segments).\n	Ground improvement (injection in rock and soil).\
 n	Tunnel safety.\n	Improvement of efficiency in the context of electromech
 anical equipment.\n\n \nFunding: CHF 15’000-20’000\n \nDeadline: 30
