DESCRIPTION:PHD FELLOWSHIPS\nThe Boehringer Ingelheim Fonds (BIF) awards P
 hD fellowships to outstanding junior scientists who wish to pursue an ambi
 tious PhD project in basic biomedical research in an internationally leadi
 ng laboratory (please read What we do and do not fund).\nDeadline: 1 Febru
 ary\, 1 June\, 1 October (every year)\n\n	Who can apply: \n	\n		Natural sc
 ientists who have obtained their diploma\, MSc\, BSc\, or equivalent withi
 n 4 months from the call deadline OR Physicians\, veterinary surgeons and 
 pharmacists who have passed their state examinations.\n		European citizens
  working in Europe or overseas OR Non-European citizens pursuing their PhD
  project in Europe.\n		At the call deadline\, the applicant should not hav
 e been working on his/her project for more than 6 months.\n		1 applicant p
 er laboratory.\n	\n	\n	: 2 years\, renewable for 1 year.\n	Eligible costs:
  monthly stipend (EUR 3’400 per month)\, minor research-related costs (E
 UR 150 per months)\, travel allowance (to attend one conference per year)\
 , spouse and child allowance (if applicable). Does NOT cover: tuition\, be

 y conducting an experimental project in basic biomedical research and wish
  to pursue a short-term research stay or attend a practical course in Euro
 pe.\nRolling call: submit at least 6 weeks before the planned date of depa
 rture.\n\n\n	Who can apply: \n\n	\n		PhD students or medical students purs
 uing an experimental doctoral thesis\;\n		who are pursuing a particular re
 search project\;\n		Graduates from abroad who have applied for a PhD proje
 ct.\n	\n	\n	up to 3 months.\n	Eligible costs: flat rate for travel\, lodgi
 ng and course fees. Does NOT cover research-related costs.\n	For more info
