DESCRIPTION:Established in 2003 in Luzern\, the Osteology Foundation promo
 tes research\, education and collaboration between universities and indust
 ry in the field of oral and maxillofacial tissue regeneration all over the
  world. The objective is to make new techniques and products available to 
 practitioners quicker and with greater goal orientation.\n \nThe Osteolog
 y Foundation funds clinical\, pre-clinical and in vitro studies.\nResearch
  topics falling within the scope of the Osteology Foundation are:\n\n	Bone
  and soft tissue biology: clinical aspects\n	Local factors affecting oral 
 tissue regeneration\n	Systemic diseases with an impact on oral tissue rege
 neration\n	Novel bone and soft tissue substitute materials\n	Pharmacologic
 al aspects of oral tissue regeneration\n	Inflammatory conditions\, e.g. pe
 riodontitis\, peri-implantitis.\n\n \nThe Osteology Foundation offers two
  types of grants:\n\n1. Advanced Researcher Grants\n\n\n	Who can apply: ad
 vanced researchers in the field of oral tissue regeneration.\n	Funding & D
 uration: CHF 100’000 for up to 2 years.\n	Awarding criteria: Clinical re
 levance\; Originality of hypothesis\; Facilities and qualifications\; Prel
 iminary data.\n\n2. Young Researcher Grants \n\n\n	Who can apply: young re
 searchers currently undergoing post-graduate education or within three yea
 rs thereafter.\n	Funding & Duration: CHF 30’000 for up to 1 year.\n	Awar
 ding criteria: Courage to take risks\; Sound hypothesis and aims that show
  thinking out of the box\; Research plan\; Motivation letter\; Recommendat
 ion letter.\n\n \nRestrictions: \n\n\n	Product-based research will be rej
 ected.\n	The grant cannot cover the total amount of funding required for t
 he planned study.\n	You cannot submit the same application in parallel to 
 another grant provider.\n\n \nEligible costs: Academic Salaries of the in
 vestigators included in the project. Salaries of technical staff can be fu
 nded in justified cases\; Equipment (except for basic laboratory equipment
  such as microscope and cell culture incubator)\; 10% overhead\; Supplies\
 ; Travel\; Clinical and pre-clinical studies\, other expenses. \n \nDead
 line for Abstracts: 15 June or 1 December (every year) via the online appl
 ication system.\nThe Science Committee of the Osteology Foundation selects
 \, on average\, one third of the projects\, which then progress to the sec
 ond stage (full proposal).\nDeadline for Full Proposals: 15 October or 15 
 April (respectively) via the online application system.\n
