DESCRIPTION:The Volkswagen Stiftung funding initiative Experiment! – In 
 search of bold research ideas addresses researchers in science and enginee
 ring as well as in the life sciences (including immediately neighbouring d
 isciplines in the behavioural sciences) who want to put a potentially tran
 sformative and risky research idea to the text. The initiative supports da
 ring research projects\, which drop out of regular funding schemes due to 
 their early stage or unorthodoxy\, disregarding a high project risk and th
 e vagueness of a successful outcome. The choice of topics is free.\n \nWh
 o can apply:\n\n	The PI must be a postdoctoral researcher or a professor i
 n Germany.\n	Swiss-based researchers can be involved as international part
 ners. They must hold a doctorate degree\, a habilitation or a professorshi
 p appointment.\n\n \nFunding & Duration: Up to EUR 120'000 for up to 18 m
 onths.\n\n\n	Eligible costs: Salaries and project-related costs (incl. fun
 ding for international partners).\n	Non-eligible costs: Overheads.\n\n \n
 Deadline: 1 August until 11:59 pm (every year)\n \nApplication: A short 3
