DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Multiple Sclero
 sis Research Program (MSRP) for 2018. The Investigator Initiated Award sup
 ports highly rigorous\, high-impact research projects that have the potent
 ial to make an important contribution to MS research and/or patient care. 
 Research projects may focus on any phase of research\, excluding clinical 
 trials. The rationale for a research idea may be derived from laboratory d
 iscovery\, clinical trial results\, population-based studies\, a clinician
 ’s firsthand knowledge of patients\, or anecdotal data. Applications mus
 t include preliminary and/or published data that are relevant to MS and th
 e proposed research project.\n \nAll applications submitted to this progr
 am must address at least one of the following Focus Areas:\n\n	Obstacles t
 o Remyelination and/or Obstacles to Axonal Protection in MS\n	Correlates o
 f Disease Activity and Progression in MS\n	Biology and Measurements of MS 
 Symptoms\n\n \nFunding: Maximum USD $ 600’000\n \nDuration: 3 years\n
  \nEligibility: Applicants from international organizations or institutio
 ns are eligible to apply\, and there are no citizenship restrictions. Inve
 stigators at the level of Assistant Professor or above are eligible to sub
 mit applications.\n \nHow to Apply: Pre-applications are submitted throug

 collaborators and key personnel\, a proposal narrative\, and supporting do
