DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Multiple Sclero
 sis Research Program (MSRP) for 2018. The Exploration – Hypothesis Devel
 opment Award supports the initial exploration of innovative\, high-risk\, 
 high-gain\, and potentially groundbreaking concepts in the MS research fie
 ld. The studies supported by this award mechanism are expected to lay the 
 groundwork for future avenues of scientific investigation. The proposed re
 search project should include a well-formulated\, testable hypothesis base
 d on strong scientific rationale and study design. The proposed research p
 roject should be innovative. Innovative research may examine a novel parad
 igm\, challenge current paradigms\, look at existing problems from novel p
 erspectives\, or exhibit other highly creative qualities.\n \nAll applica
 tions submitted to this program must address at least one of the following
  Focus Areas:\n\n	Obstacles to Remyelination and/or Obstacles to Axonal Pr
 otection in MS\n	Correlates of Disease Activity and Progression in MS\n	Bi
 ology and Measurements of MS Symptoms\n\n \nFunding: Maximum USD $ 150’
 000\n \nDuration: 2 years\n \nEligibility: Applicants from international
  organizations or institutions are eligible to apply\, and there are no ci
 tizenship restrictions. Investigators at the level of Assistant Professor 
 or above are eligible to submit applications.\n \nHow to Apply: Pre-appli
 cations are submitted through the eBRAP platform. They should contain cont
 act information\, a list of collaborators and key personnel\, a proposal n
 arrative\, and supporting documents as suggested on the platform. Full app
