DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Lunch Cancer Re
 search Program (LCRP) for 2018. The Concept Award supports the exploration
  of a highly innovative new concept or untested theory that addresses an i
 mportant problem relevant to lung cancer. This award mechanism supports hi
 gh-risk studies that have the potential to reveal entirely new avenues for
  investigation. Submissions from and partnerships with investigators at De
 partment of Defense (DoD) military treatment facilities and laboratories\,
  and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical centers and research labo
 ratories are strongly encouraged.\n \nPresentation of preliminary data is
  not consistent with the intent of the Concept Award mechanism. While the 
 inclusion of preliminary data is not prohibited\, the strength of the appl
 ication should not rely on preliminary data.\n \nThe LCRP seeks to suppor
 t research that is relevant to the healthcare needs of military Service me
 mbers\, Veterans\, and their families. Military relevance will be consider
 ed in determining relevance to the mission of the FY18 LCRP during program
 matic review.\n \nFunding: Maximum USD $ 100’000\n \nDuration: 1 year\
 n \nEligibility: Applicants from international organizations or instituti
 ons are eligible to apply\, and there are no citizenship restrictions. Inv
 estigators at or above the level of postdoctoral fellow are eligible to su
 bmit applications.\n \nHow to Apply: Pre-applications are submitted throu
 gh the eBRAP platform. They should contain contact information\, a list of
  collaborators and key personnel\, a letter of intent\, and supporting doc
 uments as suggested on the platform. Full applications (by invitation) wil
