DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Peer Reviewed C
 ancer Research Program (PRCRP) for 2018. The Idea Award supports innovativ
 e\, untested\, high-risk/potentially high-reward concepts\, theories\, par
 adigms\, and/or methods in cancer research that are relevant to active dut
 y Service members\, Veterans\, other military beneficiaries\, and the Amer
 ican public. The “Special Focus” of this award mechanism is on exposur
 es\, conditions\, or circumstances that are unique to the military\, dispr
 oportionately represented in a military beneficiary population\, or may af
 fect mission readiness. Cancers or circumstances with cancer risk that may
  affect military families are of special importance to the care and well-b
 eing of the military for total mission readiness.\n \nThe Idea Award with
  Special Focus is not intended to support a logical progression of an alre
 ady established research project. The proposed research should be innovati
 ve.\n \nTo be considered for funding\, applications for the FY18 PRCRP Id
 ea Award must address at least one of the FY18 PRCRP Topic Areas as direct
 ed by Congress. In addition\, applications must also address at least one 
 of the FY18 PRCRP Military Relevance Focus Areas. These lists are given at
  the end of this announcement.\n \nFunding: Maximum USD $ 400’000\n \n
 Duration: 2 years\n \nEligibility: Applicants from international organiza
 tions or institutions are eligible to apply\, and there are no citizenship
  restrictions. Investigators at or above the level of Assistant Professor 
 are eligible to submit applications.\n \nHow to Apply: Pre-applications a
 re submitted through the eBRAP platform. They should contain contact infor
 mation\, a list of collaborators and key personnel\, a proposal narrative\
 , and supporting documents as suggested on the platform. Full applications
