DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Tick-Borne Dise
 ase Research Program (TBDRP) for 2018. The intent of the TBDRP Idea Award 
  intends to support conceptually innovative\, high-risk/potentially high-
 reward research in the early stages of development that could lead to  cr
 itical discoveries or major advancements that will accelerate progress in 
 improving outcomes for  individuals affected by Lyme disease and/or other
  tick-borne illnesses. This award mechanism  promotes new ideas that repr
 esent innovative approaches to Lyme disease and other tick-borne  disease
 s research and have the potential to make an important contribution toward
  the TBDRP mission.\n \nApplications submitted to the FY18 TBDRP must add
 ress at least one of the specific Focus Areas in Lyme disease and other ti
 ck-borne diseases with emphasis on reducing public health burden. These Fo
 cus Areas are listed at the end of this announcement.\n \nFunding: Maximu
 m USD $ 250’000\n \nDuration: 2 years\n \nEligibility: Applicants from
  international organizations or institutions are eligible to apply\, and t
 here are no citizenship restrictions. Investigators at the level of Assist
 ant Professor or higher are eligible to submit applications.\n \nHow to A
 pply: Pre-applications are submitted through the eBRAP platform. They shou
 ld contain contact information\, a list of collaborators and key personnel
 \, a proposal narrative\, and supporting documents as suggested on the pla
