DESCRIPTION:\nEstablished in 2003 in Luzern\, the Osteology Foundation pro
 motes research\, education and collaboration between universities and indu
 stry in the field of oral and maxillofacial tissue regeneration all over t
 he world. The objective is to make new techniques and products available t
 o practitioners quicker and with greater goal orientation.\n \nThe Osteol
 ogy Foundation funds clinical\, pre-clinical and in vitro studies.\nResear
 ch topics falling within the scope of the Osteology Foundation are:\n\n	Bo
 ne and soft tissue biology: clinical aspects\n	Local factors affecting ora
 l tissue regeneration\n	Systemic diseases with an impact on oral tissue re
 generation\n	Novel bone and soft tissue substitute materials\n	Pharmacolog
 ical aspects of oral tissue regeneration\n	Inflammatory conditions\, e.g. 
 periodontitis\, peri-implantitis.\n\n \nThe Osteology Foundation offers t
 wo types of grants:\n\n1. Advanced Researcher Grants\n\n\n	Who can apply: 
 advanced researchers in the field of oral tissue regeneration.\n	Funding &
  Duration: CHF 100’000 for up to 2 years.\n	Awarding criteria: Clinical 
 relevance\; Originality of hypothesis\; Facilities and qualifications\; Pr
 eliminary data.\n\n\n2. Young Researcher Grants \n\n\n	Who can apply: youn
 g researchers currently undergoing post-graduate education or within three
  years thereafter.\n	Funding & Duration: CHF 30’000 for up to 1 year.\n	
 Awarding criteria: Courage to take risks\; Sound hypothesis and aims that 
 show thinking out of the box\; Research plan\; Motivation letter\; Recomme
 ndation letter.\n\n \nRestrictions: \n\n\n	Product-based research will be
  rejected.\n	The grant cannot cover the total amount of funding required f
 or the planned study.\n	You cannot submit the same application in parallel
  to another grant provider.\n\n \nEligible costs: Academic Salaries of th
 e investigators included in the project. Salaries of technical staff can b
 e funded in justified cases\; Equipment (except for basic laboratory equip
 ment such as microscope and cell culture incubator)\; 10% overhead\; Suppl
 ies\; Travel\; Clinical and pre-clinical studies\, other expenses. \n \n
 Deadline for Abstracts: 15 June or 1 December (every year) via the online 
 application system.\nThe Science Committee of the Osteology Foundation sel
 ects\, on average\, one third of the projects\, which then progress to the
  second stage (full proposal).\nDeadline for Full Proposals: 15 October or
  15 April (respectively) via the online application system.
