DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Spinal Cord Inj
 ury Research Program (SCIRP) for 2018. The intent of the SCIRP Qualitative
  Research Award is to support qualitative research studies that will help 
 researchers and clinicians better understand the experiences of individual
 s with SCI and thereby identify the most effective path(s) for adjusting t
 o disability and/or improving overall quality of life\, health\, and funct
 ional status after SCI. This mechanism is specifically focused on military
  and Veteran populations in the years after SCI\, examining the issues\, b
 arriers\, and promoters of success for Service members during the transiti
 on from initial injury and acute care through rehabilitation and community
  reintegration\; therefore\, collaboration with military and VA researcher
 s and clinicians is encouraged.\n \nTo meet the intent of the award mecha
 nism\, all applications must address at least one or more of the FY18 SCIR
 P QRA Focus Areas\, which are listed at the end of this announcement.\n \
 nFunding: Maximum USD $ 500’000\n \nEligibility: Applicants from intern
 ational organizations or institutions are eligible to apply\, and there ar
 e no citizenship restrictions. Independent investigators at all academic l
 evels are eligible to submit applications.\n \nHow to Apply: Pre-applicat
 ions are submitted through the eBRAP platform. They should contain contact
  information\, a list of collaborators and key personnel\, a proposal narr
 ative\, and supporting documents as suggested on the platform. Full applic
