DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Duchenne Muscul
 ar Dystrophy Research Program (DMDRP) for 2018. The DMDRP Career Developme
 nt Award mechanism supports early-career investigators in conducting impac
 tful Duchenne research under the mentorship of an experienced muscular dys
 trophy researcher as an opportunity to obtain the funding\, mentoring\, an
 d experience necessary for productive\, independent careers at the forefro
 nt of Duchenne research. Applicants should also demonstrate that the propo
 sed research has high potential to lead to or make breakthroughs in Duchen
 ne.\n \nThe proposed research must address at least one of the FY18 DMDRP
  Focus Areas. The Focus Areas are listed at the end of this announcement.\
 n \nFunding: Maximum USD $ 275’000\n \nDuration: 2 years\n \nEligibil
 ity: Applicants from international organizations or institutions are eligi
 ble to apply\, and there are no citizenship restrictions. The PI must be a
 n independent\, early-career researcher at least 2 years past their termin
 al degree.  The Mentor must hold a position at or above the level of an A
 ssociate Professor\, and must be an experienced muscular dystrophy researc
 her as demonstrated by a strong record of funding and publications in musc
 ular dystrophy research.\n \nHow to Apply: Pre-applications are submitted

 ist of collaborators and key personnel\, a letter of intent\, and supporti
