DESCRIPTION:Aim: Early Career breast cancer researchers anywhere in the wo
 rld are invited to apply for our Career Catalyst Research Grants. These Ko
 men Training and Career Development awards seek to bridge the funding gap 
 faced by faculty as they start their careers in breast cancer research. Gr
 ants funded by Komen provide the preparation necessary to compete for inde
 pendent funding as an established and successful breast cancer researcher.
 \n \nCCR Grants provide unique opportunities for scientists who have held
  faculty positions for no more than five years by the Application due date
  (October 17\, 2018). CCR grants provide support for hypothesis-driven res
 earch projects that will lead to a reduction in breast cancer deaths by 20
 26.\n \nThe focus area for the FY19 Career Catalyst Research Award is Con
 quering Metastatic Breast Cancer. The goal of this focus area is to suppor
 t outstanding translational research into the understanding\, detection\, 
 and treatment of metastatic breast cancer which will lead to a reduction i
 n breast cancer deaths by 2026.\n \nDuration:      Max. 3 years\n \n
 Funding:       Max. USD $150’000/year\n \nEligibility: Applicant m
 ust hold a doctoral degree and must hold a full-time faculty appointment o
 r have a formal offer from the intended host institution. However\, the fa
 culty appointment must be no more than 5 years old at the application due 
 date. There are no citizenship or residency requirements.\n \nHow to Appl
 y:  A Letter of Intent is required to be submitted first. The LOI should 
 contain a research plan and impact statement\, and should  name a Lead Me
 ntor and a Mentor Committee. The LOIs will be reviewed for eligibility\, c
 ompliance with submission guidelines\, and responsiveness to the research 
 focus specified. Applicants with approved LOIs will be invited to submit f
 ull applications.\n \nLetter of Intent Deadline: 01 August 2018 (1:00 pm 
 EST)\nApplication Deadline:       17 October 2018 (1:00 pm EST)\n \n
