  processing revealing the frequency content of a signal. The mathematical 
 details tend to be lost on the average user\, as modern algorithms take ov
 er the burden of insight. In this talk we will explore the use of Fourier 
 transformations for system analysis and signal processing. First we will d
 evelop an intuitive understanding of the underlying mathematics and discus
 s the limitations. Then we apply said tools on a few everyday examples and
  then a simplified nuclear reactor.
