DESCRIPTION:Aim: The origin of life is among the great unsolved scientific
  problems of our age. To advance our knowledge of the processes that led t
 o the emergence of life\, the Simons Foundation established the Simons Col
 laboration on the Origins of Life (SCOL). The collaboration supports creat
 ive\, innovative research on topics such as the astrophysical and planetar
 y context of the origins of life\, the development of prebiotic chemistry\
 , the assembly of the first cells\, the advent of Darwinian evolution and 
 the earliest signs of life on the young Earth.\n\nThe collaboration is now
  inviting applications for postdoctoral fellowships to support independent
  research on topics related to the origins of life at one or more laborato
 ries or research institutions in any country.\n \nDuration:      3 ye
 ars\n \nFunding:       USD $ 92’000 per year\n          
             Support for stipend\, health insurance\, and resear
 ch costs\n \nEligibility: Candidates must have received their Ph.D. or eq
 uivalent degree within five years of the fellowship’s start date. There 
 are no citizenship or country requirements.\n \nHow to Apply: Fellowships
  are awarded through a two-stage process. In the first phase\, applicants 
 submit a first-stage proposal via proposalCENTRAL. First-stage proposals s
 hould include a PI letter of support\, letters of recommendation\, PI and 
 applicant biosketches\, and a two-page narrative describing the proposed r
 esearch. First-stage finalists will be notified by early November\, and mu
 st submit a second-stage proposal by early December.\n \nApplication Dead
