DESCRIPTION:Jacopo Ghiglieri (CERN)\nOne of the main findings of the exper
imental program on ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions\nis that the p
roduced medium appears to have a very small shear viscosity to entropy rat
io. \nAfter an introduction to the subject I will review the challenges i
n the theory description\, focussing in particular on the effective\nkin
etic theory approach\, which allows to compute both the transport coeffici
ents\, such as the shear viscosity\,\nand the medium modifications to jets
\, another striking finding of the experimental program.  \nAfter introdu
cing the main features of the kinetic framework\, which requires\nthe assu
mption of weak coupling\, I will review the recent results in extending su
ch approach to next-to-leading\norder\, so that one can estimate the uncer
tainties that arise when extrapolating to realistic couplings. \nI will a
lso compare the weak-coupling results with the holographic results and I w
ill discuss the relevance of the methods I present for early-universe cosm
 ology.
