DESCRIPTION:Aim: Through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Pro
 gram (CDMRP)\, the Department of Defense is announcing the Vision Research
  Program (VRP) Investigator-initiated Research Award. This award will supp
 ort studies that will yield highly impactful discoveries or major advancem
 ents in the research and/or patient care of eye injury and/or visual dysfu
 nction as related to military-relevant trauma. Research projects may focus
  on any phase of research (e.g.\, basic\, translational\, applied\, clinic
 al\, observational)\, excluding clinical trials. The research idea or solu
 tion should be innovative\, novel\, or a significant advancement over exis
 ting ideas or solutions\, as applicable.\n \nFunding: Maximum USD $500’
 000\n \nDuration: 3 years\n \nEligibility: Applicants from international
  organizations or institutions are eligible to apply\, and there are no ci
 tizenship restrictions. Applicants must be independent investigators\, but
  can come from any academic level.\n \nHow to Apply: Pre-applications are
  submitted through the eBRAP platform. They should contain contact informa
 tion\, a list of collaborators and key personnel\, a preproposal narrative
 \, and supporting documentation as suggested on the platform. Full applica
