DESCRIPTION:Aim: Since the National Glaucoma Research (NGR) program began 
 in 1978\, BrightFocus has awarded nearly $33 million to support research p
 rojects on the causes and potential prevention and treatment of this disea
 se. The standard award provides significant funding for researchers who ha
 ve already generated some amount of preliminary data\, but are often requi
 red to demonstrate additional\, significant progress before they can apply
  to governmental or industrial funding agencies.\n \nDuration: 2 years\n
  \nFunding: USD $200’000\n \nEligibility: Researchers from all academi
 c levels at or above Assistant Professor are welcome to apply for funding.
  In addition\, non-tenure-track applicants are also eligible if they are a
 ppropriately trained to lead an independent research study\, and are permi
 tted by their organizations to manage the grant and supervise any key pers
